Why We Love This Place
This is the only place we drink coffee in Northwest Arkansas and we love it!
You can of course go somewhere else, but there are a few reasons why we stick with 211 Cafe.
211's Beans Are Always Fresh.
Did you know coffee beans only last 2 weeks after being roasted to retain their full flavor? You can certainly keep drinking that coffee until about a month, but after that you should toss it and go get more. Bearing this in mind, think about all the bags of coffee at the store. Unless you go to Akin's where they have local, roasted coffee, there is just no change of getting fresh coffee at the store. Even at a place like Akins, you still don't know how long that coffee has been there or if it was packaged a month before it made it to the store. This is why most of the time you see a dark roast, because those have already roasted most of the flavor out to begin with. A medium roast thats done right is perfect. That's another reason why we only buy coffee from 211 Cafe in the Bentonville Library.
We know its fresh and I can't speak for the other local roasters, because their operations are a bit bigger. I'd be really surprised if Onyx or Airship can guarantee that all the coffee they put out is fresh. I don't care to find out because we don't go there, but if you have another favorite coffee shop, it's certainly worth asking.
Mauricio is the owner of 211 Cafe and he roasts in his big Bellwether roaster in the library every two weeks, so you will always have good coffee there. The Guatemalan medium roast is phenomenal too. His friends back in Guatemala grow the coffee and he loves to visit and check out the process every chance he can. It was his dream to move to America, which ended up being Arkansas to serve us his amazing coffee. This is the place that taught us to like coffee for the coffee and we thank Mauricio for curing us from the Starbucks curse. We used to get Carmel Fraps with 3-4 times the amount of syrup! INSANE! Praise the Most High we are alive.
We think that 211 is so great that we just don't go anywhere else, but the fact that it is I can guarantee the coffee is always at its best and therefore is best for your body.Mauricio is on the same health journey and he does a lot to offer some healthy choices. I just tried the new lemonade and he was all excited about how good the ingredients were, so he showed me and both were so pumped. You may see some nasty candies like Oreos, but he has some healthy options too like Organic apple juice for the kids and good cheese for the quesadillas. He can't do everything perfectly just yet, but he is making a much better attempt than 99% of the places around here.
Locations
Bentonville Library
Their primary location is in the Bentonville Library an is open from 9-5pm. They offer Pour Overs like the chemex, v60, french press and aeropress as well as all the classic lattes/breves. They have a new organic lemonade with the option of added blended strawberries. If they could open earlier they, would but they need to open when the Library does.
NWACC Student Center
Find 211 Coffee at the Northwest Arkansas Community College where they have some special drinks that you won't see in the Library. Their most popular is the Eagle: vanilla, hazelnut latte and the Cantata: brown sugar, caramel and cinnamon.
Open 7:30am - 3pm.
Farmers Market
The Bentonville Farmers Market is open year-round in Downtown Bentonville. It's on the square from April - October and in The Record during the months of December - February. In both cases you'll find 211 Cafe there with an espresso machine and sometimes even their epic coffee bike. You can buy the same fresh beans there as well.
So ultimately my point is that you can be certain you'll get fresh coffee when you buy them from 211 Cafe. If coffee is something you drink everyday you want to be sure you're putting good in your body, otherwise the bad adds up and you'll end up sick.
