Heavy Metal, Chlorine Detox Bath
Despite the chemicals in the tap water, this is how we enjoy a great detox bath after sticky situations.
The first thing you need to know is why our water needs to be cleaned up, so if you thought tap water wasn't hurting you check out this article.
If you're already aware of that, then get ready to start taking more baths. during the summer this keeps us healthy as we go swimming a lot and the public pools around here are all chlorinated to the max. So this is what we do after every swim lesson or afternoon at the pool.
We also use an amazing chlorine destroyer from Rowe Casa while we're at the the pool. Check out our post on how to fight chlorine at the pool.
This bath removes much of the chlorine from your bath water while sucking out all the heavy metals and chemicals from your skin.
First off for maximum benefit get a decent filter for the your bath water. We bought one from Sprite Showers. Nothing too crazy and there are probably better ones but this works. then the idea is to use bentonite clay to absorb the heavy metals and chemicals and vitamin C will take out most or all of the chlorine. The magnesium salt helps smooth the skin, detox, reduce inflammation and improves sleep.
• Fill with warm-hot water. (For master bath sized tub go about half way or with a shower-tub combo to 3/4.)
• 2 Tbsp Magnesium Salt with Vitamin C
• 2 Tbsp Bentonite Clay
• Can add an apple sliced in half if you don't have salt with Vitamin C. That what soaks up the chlorine so well.
• Stir it up
• Soak for at least 20 minutes.
This bath is great for after the pool, but its also fantastic when you feel a cold coming on or if you're soar from working out. Anytime you feel "meh" get on in there and when you get out you'll feel better in most cases. One time we found our kids on a slip and side where they used Daw soap and rather than freaking out we took solace knowing that we'd just need to have a detox bath.
This is a powerful weapon in the war for your health. Keep all these things on hand and you'll be glad you did.
We love sharing our healthy journey to help make yours easier, but we don't know everything. If you know something we don't, please shoot us an email with as much research as you can! We love to keep digging and ditching.
